Sri Gurugunta Amareswara Temple

Sukshetra Sri Guragunta Amareshwara temple located in Lingasugur taluk of Raichur district in Karnataka. Nearest bus station is Lingasugur which is about 18 km, frequent buses run from bus station to Sri Gurugunta Amareshwara temple and also private taxis, auto’s which is usually called tum-tum. It is also near to a famous Hutti Gold Mines which is 12km away.

How to reach

Lingasugur is well connected by road and well connected to cities like Raichur, Hubli, Kalaburagi(Gulbarga), Belgaum, Bengaluru. Number of KSRTC buses runs daily and also private buses. Nearest railway station is Yadgir which is about 83km, Raichur which is about roughly 100km and you can also reach from Gulbarga railway station which is about 140km. 

About Temple

Shivalinga of Sri Amareshwara is surrounded by water which flows throughout the year and it is still unknown factor about the source of the water. Shivalinga is said to be Udhbava linga. Water which surrounds the Shivalinga flows towards the pond known as Kalyani. It is said that taking a bath at Kalyani(Pond) relieves from all Skin Diseases and sins. 

Every year lakhs of devotees visit the temple and do the prayers. An annual car festival(jaatre) takes place during Phalguni Shukla Pournami i.e., during Holi festival day and will be celebrated for about 15 days.

On this land, Shiva by himself turned up as a child to the old aged couple and present here immortally blessing devotees from all over the world.
