But it was not possible for him to visit Mantralaya during his last moments and he went to Samaadhi stithi at Nanjanagudu itself. Sri Sugnanendra Theertha Swamiji along with others namely Sri Sujanendra Theertha Swamiji, Sri Suprajnendra Theertha Swamiji and Sri Sukruthindra Theertha Swamiji performed Yagnas to attain moksha and get blessings of Lord Sri Hari. Chamarajanagara was earlier called as ‘Hari Kutaara’ and later got the name Chamarajanagara because of God Chamarajeshwara Swami. The reason behind Ministers and rulers are losing their positions mainly because of affecting the temple premises of Chamarajeshwara Swami. A lake in which the Lord Chamarajeshwara was believed to take bath is being closed by the order of the authorities.

Chamarajeshwara temple is very famous temple of this area and many people visit here. Especially the fair taking place in the month of July or August (during Aashada) will be attended by thousands of newly married couples with a belief of getting good offspring.
