Sri Kabbalamma Devi Temple - Kabbalu

Shree Kabbalamma Devi temple is situated in Kabbalu in Kanakapura taluk, Ramanagara district of Karnataka.

Shree Kabbalamma is one of the powerful goddess with devotees visiting from all over the state to worship the goddess to lead their life joyfully. Devotees offer various poojas and rituals at this temple to over come from their problems. History says that, during the British rule, offenders were punished by pushing them from top of hill so that the offenders will die without any chance to survive. One such convicted person was saved by praying to Goddess Kabalamma and getting his life saved from punishment, he offered a golden crown to Kabalamma Devi.

Recently the temple came into light and devotees from many places are visiting this temple. In the temple premises, lord Basaveshwara (Nandi) is also present, all poojas are first performed to Basaveshwara. Devotees keep money on the hornes of Lord Basaveshwara to relieve them from all kinds of problems.

Kabalamma Devi temple can be reached either through Channapatna or Kanakapura road from Bangalore. From Kanakapura temple is at a distance of 10 kms at place called Kabbalu.

Sri Gavi Siddalingeshwara Temple, Gurmitkal

Sri Gavi Siddalingeshwara Temple located in Yadgir district of Karnataka. The best way to reach the temple is by taking road journey towards Gurmitkal from Yadgir which is about ~30km. 

 

About Temple

Sri Gavi Siddalingeshwara is resided in the cave where continuously water flows over the cave. One has to go through the water falls to enter the cave and have blessings of Lord.

The best part is water flows throughout the year and a very good place for one day family outing. It is generally recommended to avoid the rainy season as the flow of water will be high and bit difficult to enter the cave.

Guddada Melina Krishna Swami Temple

It is situated on the hill near Shanthisagara Lake (Sulekere) which is the second largest lake in Continent located of Chengiri taluk of Davangere district of Karanataka. 

Once upon a time in a village, farmer decided to commit suicide in Shanthisagara lake. During that instance a bright light appeared on the mid of hill and seemed that someone called him towards the hill, he started to move towards the hill. There, he saw snake burrow (nest), in that a wise man was talking with old beard person. The farmer in shock, moved forward to talk with the old beard person regarding his suicide and explained his problems. The beard man consoled him, not to worry about all his problems and asked him to leave. After few days, farmer’s all problems were solved and he lived peacefully and happily. 

A devotee by Siddanayaka from the near village of Shanthisagar lake used to perform prayers to the Lord Krishna’s idol above the snake’s nest every day. One night some thieves planned to stole the idol. The idol moved inside the nest without allowing it to be touched by the thief. Later, in the dream of the devotee Siddanayaka, Lord Krishna instructed to place a similar kind of Lord Krishna’s idol in the same place. Now-a-days, more devotees are coming to the temple with their prayers and wishes to fulfil.

To reach Guddada Melena Krishna Swami Temple from Bengaluru, one should reach Davanagere about 260 Kms and further 60 Kms to Shanthisagar Lake. Convenient bus and train facilities are available from Bengaluru to Davangere. From Davangere to Shanthisagar can be reached by only bus. 

Deviramma Temple - Devigiri, Chikmagalur

Deviramma Temple is situated on top Devigiri hill near to Bingidi Village which is around 3000 feet above the sea level in midst of lust green. It belongs to the Chandra Drona parvata of Mullayanagiri hill range, the highest peak point in Karnataka located in Chikmagalur.

Deviramma temple has a history of about 800 years. It is said that after Mahishasura’s samarha in Mysore, the home town of Chamundi Devi, the deity gave darshan to its devotees and came to reside in the hill of Mullayanagiri, bababudhangiri and devigiri hill of the same range. The famous five saints RudraMuni, Seethalaya, Dattatreya, Mullaya and Gallahalliajjaya who used to reside in the hill ranges allowed the deity to stay in the Devigiri hill top, so it is known as Devigiri Deviramma Betta. It is believed that Deviramma looks after the devotees from the hill top and there is also a saying that the deepavalli celebration in the Mysore Palace, used to be initiated by the lightening on top of hill.

Deviramma temple will be open only once in a year on the day of Naraka Chaturdashi i.e. the first day of deepavali. Devotees climb up the hill to take Deviramma darshana on the day with fasting and bare footed, the steep Devigiri hill on the early morning of the Naraka Chaturdashi. Even some devotees carry firewood, clothes, ghee to offer and pray for their problems. On the day, it is observed over lakhs of devotees climbing the hill for a hard trek to take the darashan from faraway places. It is a popular belief that the mountain in odd number (besa-sanke) of times.

To reach Sri Deviramma temple from Chikmagalur town which is about approximately 32 Kms. The bus facilities are available on the day of Deepotsava from chikmagalur town to Mallenahalli and further to reach the hill top, one has to take around 8 Km of forest greenery walks in the coffee plantations towards the steep hill of deviramma betta. It can also be reached from Arsinguppe, Manikyadara, Bababudangiri and Mallenahalli. There are several homestays nearby to stay in the base of the hill and the chikmagalur district is 240 Kms from state capital Bengaluru.

Kengal Anjaneya Swami temple

Kengal is a small village in Channapatna Taluk of Ramanagara District. Kengal is at a distance of 50 kilometers from Bangalore and frequent buses are there from Bangalore to Kengal. 

Kengal Anjaneya Swami temple present at Kengal is popular for relieving the devotees from their sufferings of day to day life. The temple is believed to be constructed during the period of Hoysala kings. Legend says that Vyasa Maharshi did penance for Lord Hanuman at this place. Devotion of Lord Vyasa pleased Lord Hanuman and he is believed to be manifested in the red stone. In kannada, kengallu means red stone and may be because of that the village got the name Kengal over a period of time. Also, the temple history says that the face of Lord Hanuman is turning to East from North and other half of Lord’s face is clearly visible.

Another architectural marvel of this temple is that on the day of Makara Sankranthi, sun rays will fall on the shrine of Anjaneya Swami similar to Gavi Gangadhareshwara temple of Bangalore. 

Kengal Anjaneya Swami temple was visited by many celebrities in the past and the list includes Dr. Babu Rajendra Prasad (First President of India), Neelam Sanjeev Reddy (Former President of India), Smt. Indira Gandhi (Ex Prime Minister of India), Murarji Desai (Ex Prime Minister of India), and Rajeev Gandhi (Ex Prime Minister of India). Late Kengal Hanumanthappa, second chief minister of Karnataka state was born after his parents prayed Lord Hanuman of this temple and hence the name Kengal Hanumanthappa was kept for him as the child was born with the blessings of Lord Kengal Anjaneya Swami.

Kengal village can be conveniently reached from Bangalore and the temple can be visited in a day’s time from Bangalore. Temple will be open from morning 7:00AM to night 7:30PM. Temple is managed by Endowments department of Government of Karnataka. It is not allowed to do Videography and Photography inside the temple.

Sri Gurugunta Amareswara Temple

Sukshetra Sri Guragunta Amareshwara temple located in Lingasugur taluk of Raichur district in Karnataka. Nearest bus station is Lingasugur which is about 18 km, frequent buses run from bus station to Sri Gurugunta Amareshwara temple and also private taxis, auto’s which is usually called tum-tum. It is also near to a famous Hutti Gold Mines which is 12km away.

How to reach

Lingasugur is well connected by road and well connected to cities like Raichur, Hubli, Kalaburagi(Gulbarga), Belgaum, Bengaluru. Number of KSRTC buses runs daily and also private buses. Nearest railway station is Yadgir which is about 83km, Raichur which is about roughly 100km and you can also reach from Gulbarga railway station which is about 140km. 

About Temple

Shivalinga of Sri Amareshwara is surrounded by water which flows throughout the year and it is still unknown factor about the source of the water. Shivalinga is said to be Udhbava linga. Water which surrounds the Shivalinga flows towards the pond known as Kalyani. It is said that taking a bath at Kalyani(Pond) relieves from all Skin Diseases and sins. 

Every year lakhs of devotees visit the temple and do the prayers. An annual car festival(jaatre) takes place during Phalguni Shukla Pournami i.e., during Holi festival day and will be celebrated for about 15 days.

On this land, Shiva by himself turned up as a child to the old aged couple and present here immortally blessing devotees from all over the world.

Kuramkote Doddakayappa (Anjaneya) Temple

Doddakayappa is a temple of lord Anjanaya situated at Kuram kote village of Tumkur dist in Karnataka. Many miracles like healing of disease and other problems of the devotees have taken care of in the past and the same belief is continuing with till today. The holy water available just behind the temple in a small well called as Sanjeevani water. This water is used by the devotees for drinking and taking bath to get rid from the problems from many years. 

Recently they started to build a new temple and function hall here; accommodation, food facility also available for devotees for long place. 

The direction for reaching Doddakayappa temple is from Tumkur to Kuramkotte is via through Koratgere main road with a distance around of 32Kms, many government and private bus service are available to reach Dodddakayappa temple. Temple administrators can be reached on 097317 48875.
